Tequie 4-1-1994 - 3-14-2012 & Zion -- A Dedication to them

Miss Tequie, aka: Buddha, aka: Tweeks, she will be missed!

My son made a comment: "ma, that's all I have known, is Tequie."
"Yes, I said. I got her when you were 6....."

Tequie knew, she knew her end was near & looked me face to face & smiled & left us.

A cuz, sent me a beautiful story in dedication of loosing her pup, Zion. Very sad times all around.

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER...

RIP my handsome boy . . .

So maybe, just maybe, Zi & Tequie have met & are enjoying each other's company.

When I first got the call back in 1994 that a friend had a stray & couldn't keep, I went.....when I got there, I just knew it was her.....she looked of many passed cats we had had in my family & she knew it too & came from under a bed....there she was, Miss Tequie Lynn Cobb....
never did she leave our side...she even took baths w/my son & loved to sit in our kitchen sink & sink from the dripping faucet....imagine, a cat that loves water....she loved to play w/little super balls too & even so, acted like a dog & would fetch & bring back to the top of our stairs & drop & bat the ball down our stairs & then go hurriedly down & get it & then do this over & over! Was too funny!
Many memories.
Knowing she is back to her young self chasing that silly ball is all I need to know & that she is healthy once again!
Tequie was also there, whether I was sick, laughing out loud or shedding a tear, she just knew.
I have had this connection once before, Scamper.....my Maine coon cat...but Tequie was & is & will always be that cat, my unique kitty!
Miss & Love you.....
