George Strait-The Breath You Take

I am not a huge George Strait fan, but this song & the chorus, especially........hits home......I hope you enjoy

He looks up from second base dad’s up in the stands
He saw the hit, the run, the slide there ain’t no bigger fan
In the parking lot after the game he said
“Dad I thought you had a plane to catch”
He smiled and said “Yeah son I did”

Life’s not the breaths you take
The breathing in and out
That gets you through the day
Ain’t what it’s all about
Ya just might miss the point
Try’n to win the race
Life’s not the breaths you take
But the moments that take your breath away

Fast forward fifteen years
And a thousand miles away
Boy’s built a life he’s got a wife
And a baby due today
He hears a voice saying “I made it son
He said “I told you dad you didn’t have to come”
He smiles and says ”Yeah I know you did”

Just like it took my breath when she was born
Just like it took my breath away when dad took his last that morn

Life’s not the breaths you take
The breathing in and out
That gets you through the day
Ain’t what it’s all about
Ya just might miss the point
If ya don’t slow down the pace
Life’s not the breaths you take
But the moments that take your breath away

(a day late) Wednesday Words of Wisdom -- Have Some Fun

"Have some fun. Loosen up a bit. Enjoy life!
We do not have to be so somber & serious. We do not have to be so reflective, so critical, so bound up within ourselves & the rigid parameters others, & often ourselves, have placed around us.
This is life, not a funeral service. Have some fun w/it. Enter into it. Participate. Experment. Take a risk. Be spontanous. Do not always be so concerned wbout doing right, doing the appropriate thing.
Do not always be so concerned about what others will think or say. What they think & say. Do not be afrai of making a mistake. So not be so fearful & proper. Do not inhibit yourself so much.
God did not intend us to be so inhibited, so restricted, so controlled. These repressive parameters are what otehr people have imposed on us, what we have allowed to be done to us.
We were created fully human. We were given emotions, desires, hopes, dreams, feelings. There is an alive, excited, fun-loving child in us somewhere! Let it come out! Let it come alive! Let it have some fun - not just for two hours on Saturday evening. Bring it w/us, let it help us enjoy this gift of being alive, being fully human, & being who we are.
So many riles. So much shame we've lived with. It simply isn't necessary. We have been brainwashed. It is time now to free ourselves, le ourselves go, & enter fully human into a full life.
Don't worry/ We will learn our lesson when necessary. We have learned discipline. We will not go awry. What will happen is that we will begin enjoying life. We will begin enjoying & experiencing our whoe self. We can trust ourselves. We haev boundaries now. We have our program for a foundation. We can afford to experiment & experience. We are in touch w/ourselves & our Higher Power. We are being guided, but frozen, inanimate object cannot be guided. It cannot even be moved.
Have some fun. Loosen up a bit. break a few rules. We won't be punished by God. We do not haev to allow people to punish us. And we can stop punishing ourselves. As long as we're hare & alive, let's begin to live."

"today i will lwt myself have some fun w/life. i will loosen up a bit, knowing i won't crack & break. God, help me let go of my need to be so inhibited, proper, & repressed. help me inject a big dose of life into myself by letting myself be fully alive & human"

Words of Wisdon - Wednesday "BEING IS ENOUGH"

"We are not always clear about what we are experiencing, or why.
In the midst of grief, transition, transformation, learning, healing, or discipline - it's difficult to have perspective.
That's because we have not learned the lesson yet. We are in the midst of it. The gift of clarity has not yet arrived.
Our need to control can manifest itself as a need to know exactly what's going on. We can not alsways know. Sometimes, we need to let ourselves be & trust that clarity will come later, in retrospect.
If we are confused, that is what we are supposed to be. The confusion is tempoary. We shall see. The lesson, the purpose, shall reveal itself - in time, in its own time.
It will all make perfect sense - later."

**Today, I will stop straining to know what I don't know, to see what I can't see, to undrestand what I don't yet understand. I will trust the being is sufficient, & let go of my need to figure things out."
