The Dance, Life........

I've heard this song 1,001 times and then some, but today 1-5-2010, it has a different meaning.
To some, this song is about a loss of love, a relationship, but not the way I think, today.

My loss is my Dad. It's been three years & not a day goes by that I don't think of him.
He showed me the dance, in a different way.
Life is too short.
Laugh. All the time, til your tummy hurts & the tears of joy roll down.
Live. As tho you only have today, the present, the gift. When we live, when we feel pain, we know we are alive & I wouldn't change that.
Love. To the fullest, don't hold back. Get up & your heart will mend, may take some time, but get on w/your life.
Do all of these, no matter what.

The Dance

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Holding you, I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say? you know I might have changed it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Yes my life, it's better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

I'll never for get this day............................

My son running down our road to see his Papa, both sets of arms extended. This was Dad. No matter who you are or were, he was there. You didn't need to see him, his open arms always there. For me & most of all, my son!
What a privilege & an honor for me to call him Dad!
Thanks Dad for you & all you have done for me & Andrew! You are greatly missed!

Til we meet again.

So sweet to honor Dad.
Keep your promises to you/yourself; you have much to accomplish; each day a new opportunity!

Happy 2010!
