The Maine Event: Video of BJP On Christmas w/his new firetruck!!

Well this should be BJP and a quick video of him riding it like a pro..............

Video of BJP On Christmas w/his new firetruck!!

Sampson & my new friend, Gretel

I am famous, like my sister in FL to adopt or help w/other folks w/their pets. I have gotten accustom of taking care of one of the Dr's I work with, his 2 golden retreivers, Morgan & son, Eli. Well, another person I work with has approached me & asked if I could dog-sit her almost 2 yr old golden, Gretel. YES I said, oh what fun my son & I will have. So she & her husband came over last weekend so Sampson & Gretel could meet, and a GREAT meeting it was. I kid-you-not, I think my Sam has more girlfriends than any one man could imagine!!
I picked up Gretel last Friday as her parents flew to Disney for a HUGE family Christmas vacation. Much to my surprise, there both dogs were..............

Shall I say comfortable!!! Where do I fit in here in my own over-sized-king-size bed???? Well, I also had my boyfriend's kids, he got called into work for an early Saturday all day shift....so CMR took this picture early am. You can clearly see that Gretel made her self quite comfy!!

As you can see in the right hand corner, Samspon did fit too, looking for a little affection, which Gretel took over!! ha ha
Gretel will be missed as her parents will pick her up tomorrow nite!

Christmas 2007, razzed up, quiet & blessed all @ once!!

Waking up early isn't always my cup of tea because I am @ work by 6:30 am 5 days a week, so sleeping in, is what I wanted for Christmas. However, our latest Family Tradition is leaving home by 7 am & driving a little over an hour and a half to be w/my eldest sister & her family & have Christmas breakfast so she can be to work before 3 pm. Yes FUN!!! We walked into their home & there was their tree all decorated up & presents & we added more. Not only from us but from my middle sister & her husband from the South!! More FUN!!!!!!
My son helped Nana last nite putting together this red firetruck & he helped his almost 15 month old cuz, and boy did he take off. And Grampy wants to borrow this red truck when he goes to a fire call!!!

The kids got funny red blinking noses, well CGS wouldn't put his on so ATW did instead! What a HOOT!

From GMS cooking our breakfast pizza, to Gram feeding BJP the pizza & a breakfast casserole,(a recipe from Aunti in FL)

To JASP reading to BJP, to BJP building w/his new blocks.
To Mom trying to figure out a scratch ticket given to us by her Grandson CGS.
Mom's was a Crossword puzzle that between opening presents and scratching in between, kept her out of trouble and quiet and then to find out after 3 hours of this process, was a DUD! Both CGS & ATW got a little cast $4 and $1 respectively.

The End was great too, BJP got a colorful new winter jacket from Grampy & Gram that you could find this kiddo anyway in a blizzard & new boots, he was ready for outdoors! Uncle CGS took on that honor! Just an awesome day!

Ok, once again, I am "stealing" or "borrowing" whatever you call it, I didn't ask

This is from my sister's blog: alyzabethan.blogspot.com as she remembered our Dad on Friday 21, 2007. She is the best sister/daughter of all. Always being extremly thoughtful in all. Even thinking first. My mouth just ramble over.....
As I didn't actually call our Mom, I live next door, I did see her, but I didn't even bring up Dad. I mean Mom said "LOOK AT MY ROOF!!" Yes very delighted that she was very happy w/the work done!! I love to see her smile & be happy & upbeat!! Especailly when she, that I see, has a hard time calling on folk to help, she always relied on Dad.
Love you AC!!!!!!

Remembering Yesterdays
Yesterday (Friday) was a sad day. It will always begin with the memories of my Dad who passed one year ago. I dreaded calling my Mom as I get weepy at the drop of a hat. We did talk and didn't fall totally apart.

My Mom did have a happy story to tell, one that didn't involve a contractor ripping off a widow. You see, my Dad did all the repairs and handy-man chores around the house. So when the roof needed shoveling due to the large amount of snow and the expectation of more snow and freezing rain in the next few days, my Mom was searching her brain for someone she could call. She remembered a distant friend who had a construction company. So she took a chance and called, he was glad to refer her to his grown nephew who did snow plowing and those type of jobs during the winter. The nephew agreed to come and give my Mom an estimate. He called my Mom while she was getting off work and said he was at her house. Here's the short story; he shoveled off the entire house and garage roofs, shoveled the pathways and the pathway to the fuel tank, cleared off the decks and spoke to my Mom in a very nice, very respectful manner. He even took time to tell stories about my Dad that his Dad had told him. And then he gave my Mom an unbelievably low price for doing all the work. What a blessing to have a happy story on a day that she needed some cheering.

My Favorite Christmas gift--Thanks BFM!!!

Thursday December 21, 2006 and now Friday December 21, 2007.
It has been one year since my Dad's passing. My brother-in-law, BFM, in Florida, sent me a present, this picture. It is their favorite & it is mine also. I have it as my background on my work computer.
He enlarged this photo & framed & sent it to me. Now, I wasn't sure if I was to open this, oh but heck I did. When I opened this box, there was some home-made goodies: peanut butter brittle & carmel popcorn! WOW! EXTRA YUMMY!! I dove right into it, seeing all the packing popcorn, I thought nothing of it & started to put the box away, but it still felt like something was there & there it was, on the bottom all bubbled wrapped up, this picture! It even arrived on Friday the 21st, how cool is that!

Thank you VERY VERY MUCH BFM & ACM! You two are always thoughtful, caring, understanding, and just plain ole amazing!!!

Merry Christmas & I wish you could be here!

My theme Let It Snow!

So here I am again, sitting & watching.....the white fluffy annoying stuff, ayup, already annoying!! We are under a snow storm. "They" state only 2-4", however, since 3 pm, we ALREADY have that much STUFF!!!

Maine, again, on Sunday, AGAIN, will be under a NOR'EASTER!! I have no idea just how much of the stuff we'll get, but I have geared up the plow & even driven for the first time, Thanks Dad, the other nite. My Mom has "rules" when & when not to drive this old beater! A 1987 Chevy Silverado. What a truck. Don't make 'em like that anymore, Dad would say. He always kept this particular truck due to it's stability & ruggedness.(a real word?)

Anyway, I'll get you some pictures, but picture this:
My wonderful, smart son, was born in 1987, so this truck was brand spanking new @ that time. So the summer of 1988 & 1989, and maybe even more, was my son's "play-pen." Boy did he love climbing around in the bed of that truck. Also, his Nana & I could keep a "watchful" eye out on this energetic child!

So to go backwards in my story, Dad would never let me touch any of his things and get them dirty when I was just a "wee" one.

So these years in particular, I can remember one summer day putting ATW in back there as Nana & I puttered around. We went to check on him & to our surprise he wasn't in the truck bed. We panicked......he had somehow figured out how to open that back sliding window and there he was sitting in the base of the truck, covered in his peanut & butter sandwich from head to toe............and so was the inside of the truck. Before Nana & I could get him, wash him & wash Dad's not so new truck.....there Dad was, laughing & laughing, stating "oh that's ok." Nana & I flipped that Dad was so reserve & didn't mind this little creature climbing around!

Now, go back to me as a "wee" one & all "you-know-what" would have broken loose!

To this day, ATW can't really do any wrong in Nana's eyes(well mine either, but now he is 20 & learning all for himself to keep himself clean! hahaha)and my Dad still looks over him & laughs!

Oh the stories I could chat about w/my Dad & son.......even another new truck that my Dad taught my son just how to drive in the snow in a empty parking lot, ayup,an EMPTY one, he knows how to pull a "brody." spelling??? Whatever..................Let It Snow so my son can teach me this trick w/this truck!!! hahaha

More Holiday Spirit!

From childhood times w/my sisters & making some wooden ornaments to my Grandmother "E-E" and all of her home-made small stockings. I was lucky, she made my my High School colors, "Be Loyal To The Purple Be Loyal To The White..."

Also many hand-made ornaments from Sis in FL. There is a multi colored stocking that she made & she even dated the attached card, "1999." To her bells & potpourri ornament. Thanks AC!!

I am all done decorating my Tree & even Sampson admired the tree from his stand point!
I think I had said in an earlier post that I have the "MISFIT" tree. I love it that way. I have all clear mini lites, tons of hand made ornaments from over the many family years. I guess I just take & take & take!

There are two other figures that I love & adore that my grandmother, E-E, once again made with love & gave to me as gifts. One is a hand-made doll all dressed up & the other is Santa! I miss her & all the things she & her sisters did & our long talks we had. Now I live in these granparents home E-E & Papa, and this is the best & most special gift of all!

My tree stands and is surrounded by many gifts from folk that have passed before me, so even tho my tree is "different," this is the best of the best......
These two stockings were given to all of us from Dad, just when he passed, it was he who wanted to keep our little tradition going that his folks, E-E & Papa had started oh so many years.......Thank you for all, Dad, as always, you always thought of others even in your time of need. Here's to you & my tree that is a tradition of ornaments from your family!

My tree is for all of my family, and thanks to them, I have MY tradition that will continue w/our family memories!

Merry Christmas ALL!!

The 2007 Christmas Tree

I have torn & torn my home apart & slowly putting back together again, isn't that a children's song, Humpty Dumpty. Well, ayup, my eggs are all disarrayed & all are finding a home for this Holiday Season. More pictures to come as I unraveled it all.
I have been collecting Christmas houses & made little villages around the home too. However, they still lie in boxes as I haven't gotten that far w/the decorating.
I have two huge built in bookcases that surround my fireplace & I decorate these villages around the mantel & bookcases. Hopefully I can get all the extensions cords hidden! Wish me luck!

Saturday Nite & some bed-time Christmas music

Stolen from my sister & brother-in-laws site!!

How about a little Christmas Music from Santa and some deer friends?

The left over 1st Winter Snow Storm & now it's 41 degrees!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

The snow arrived w/some force & we recv'd about a foot of snow & it is still lite & fluffy which I like! So does my dog!

My son did the snowplowing & I will go tomorrow & finish & clean areas up. We also got a lite dusting last nite of another 2-3" and all is white again, well except the pile @ the end of our road, which will grow over the snow bearing months. I will keep adding pictures of this pile!

Here is my little scene for Christmas lakeside on a picnic table, cute huh?
